Beautification begins Thursday, November 5, 2026
PLEASE REMOVE ALL PROHIBITED OR NONCOMPLIANT ITEMS BEFORE NOVEMBER 5, 2026
A message to our families and visitors
Hollywood Forever is entrusted with maintaining a beautiful, dignified, safe, and peaceful resting place for every family we serve. Over time, our existing flower and decoration rules have not always been consistently followed, and we recognize that the Cemetery has not enforced those rules as consistently as it should have.
To improve the appearance and care of the Cemetery year-round, Hollywood Forever is implementing a clearer and more consistent flower, decoration, and beautification system. We understand that many items placed at graves and memorials have deep personal meaning, so we are providing advance notice and asking families to remove any prohibited or sentimental items they wish to keep before the major cleanup begins.
BEGINNING NOVEMBER 5
- Cemetery staff will begin a cemetery-wide removal of prohibited, deteriorated, excessive, unsafe, or noncompliant items.
- Items removed during the cleanup will be discarded.
- After the initial cleanup, Hollywood Forever will follow a consistent weekly removal schedule: every Thursday beginning at 6:00 a.m., except during published holiday decorating periods.
- Management will continue to remove items at any time when necessary for safety, appearance, funerals, interments, irrigation, mowing, landscaping, cleaning, or other Cemetery operations.
PLEASE REMOVE THESE ITEMS BEFORE NOVEMBER 5
- All artificial, silk, plastic, dried, or imitation flowers.
- Glass containers or decorations; windmills; candles, open flames; loose stones or shells; fencing, borders or edging; sharp stakes, exposed wire, hooks, unstable displays, solar lights, benches, tables or chairs not installed by the Cemetery, and other maintenance or safety hazards.
- Plantings, hedges, digging, trenching, edging, turf alterations, or decorations attached to Cemetery landscaping, trees, shrubs, statues, buildings, signs, or other common areas.
- Items extending beyond the memorial space, encroaching on neighboring graves, lawns, roads, walkways, irrigation equipment, or maintenance access.
- At mausoleums: floor displays, freestanding arrangements, and items attached to crypts, niches, marble, granite, bronze, glass, walls, or doors with tape, glue, adhesive strips/hooks, wire, screws, drilling, paint, markers, stickers, decals, or similar methods.
- Any item of sentimental or monetary value that your family wishes to keep.
WHAT WILL CONTINUE TO BE ALLOWED
- OUTDOOR GROUNDS: fresh-cut flowers in Cemetery-provided vases or placed securely on an appropriate monument base.
- MAUSOLEUMS: fresh-cut flowers in Cemetery-installed vases.
- Potted plants will be allowed when placed on the monument or marker.
- Temporary holiday decorations during the dates and under the conditions published in Hollywood Forever’s Annual Flower & Decoration Schedule.
We appreciate your cooperation as we begin this more consistent maintenance program. These changes are intended to honor every family by keeping Hollywood Forever beautiful, orderly, accessible, and well cared for throughout the year.
