Marilyn Jean Rhone, born November 2, 1943 in Barberton, Ohio, passed away on March 8, 2000 in Downey, California.
Marilyn was born in Barberton, Ohio to Howard and L. Grace Chapman. Lived 48 of her 57 years in California. Graduated 1962 from Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach. Immediately after graduation she married her high school sweetheart Richard Rhone also of Long Beach.
Marilyn had one ambition which she strove to meet daily that was to care for her family by creating a warm and loving home where family and friends always felt warmly welcomed. To accomplish this goal Marilyn looked for ways to make everyday special and special days meaningful: Holiday cupcakes for the neighborhood; small gifts and cards to let you know she cared; a kind word; a gentle hand; always there… always ready to help. She had a special love for the weak be they young, infirm or old, no task was too much for her in protecting and caring for them. It was never enough to just love the people in her world, she continuously showered them with random acts of kindness.
Not a modern woman, not a career woman, but rather a simple woman who loved. “Mare” you will be solely acts of kindness.
Marilyn leaves behind her husband Richard of 38 years, her daughters Donna Rhone, Kelley Ladwig, Kimberly Bolanos, and Linda Rhone; grandchildren Christina, Beli, Steven, Erik and Michael; brother Jack Chapman from Yakima, WA; and sister Sandy Breithaupt of Downey, CA; 5 niece and 2 nephews; and her dear friends John and Sandy Breck; and 57 years of friends and neigbors who were lucky enough to cross her path.
