Tyrone Edmond Power was born on May 5, 1914, in Cincinnati, Ohio. His entry into the world guaranteed him a spot in a high-powered family acting dynasty, with great-grandfather, grandfather, and father all successful performers in areas of music, live stage, and film.
His film debut, in Tom Brown of Culver (1932), was just the beginning of what would be not only a legendary and important career, but also a satisfying and rewarding relationship with moviegoers, who, by 1939, made Tyrone Power the number two box office draw in the country.
Besides his obvious good looks, smooth and velvety voice, and strengths in both light and dramatic roles, Tyrone Power was a citizen with patriotism paramount, as he enlisted in the Marine Corps in World War II, serving his country from 1942 to 1945, and logging over eleven hundred hours of flying time, much of that under considerable enemy fire.
Upon his return to civilian life, Power resumed a glittering career, shining in any cinematic genre he touched. He was truly one of the brightest of the stars.

Tyrone Power and Curtis Kenyon
My dad, Curtis Kenyon wrote “lloyds of London.” Also , he and TP were great friends, as TP’s uncle and CK’s uncle lived next to each other in Venice when they were young.

THANK YOU so much for these terrific videos!! What a treat to see for an actor that, nowadays, doesn’t nearly get the attention he deserves. Again, thank you so very much for creating these splendid videos!

Dearest Ty,
God bless and keep you. I loved all of your movies, particularly your brilliant performances in The Paradine Case and Blood in the Sand.
Other noteworthy performances of yours that I must mention: The Razor’s Edge, The Captain From Castile, and Nightmare Alley.
You were a versatile and talented professional–not just another Hollywood pretty boy. And everyone who had the pleasure of working with you always spoke of your unfailingly generous and noble character.
You were a brave and noble soul, and you are still loved by all of your fans.
God bless and keep you.
Rest in peace.

Long Live Tyrone!
I have long admired the work of the Great actor! As I travel the globe from my native Australia I often check for updates on Tyrone. When I found this site I thought it was amazing. A big Thank you to the Forever people for creating the information found here on Tyrone. Especially the newspaper clippings from his funeral. I must return to the USA and visit his resting place as it looks greatly improve from when I was last there in 1993!

The Greatest
They do not make actors like Tyrone Power any more. His movies still delight. Some favorites: The Eddy Duchin Story, Witness for the Proscecution, The Black Rose, The Razor’s Edge, The Prince of Foxes, The Captain from Castille to name of few. He is greatly missed.
