Tony Beckley was born on October 7, 1927, in Southampton, England, and died on April 19, 1980, in
Los Angeles, CA.
A graduate of the Royal Academy
of Dramatic Arts in London, Beckley appeared in BBC-TV’s Romeo and Juliet,
and later in War and Peace and Julius Caesar. Prior to his death, he
had appeared on stage with Maggie Smith in “Snap” and Elaine Stritch in
Tennesse Williams’ “Small Craft Warnings.”
A veteran actor of over 1000 stage
productions and television shows in England, as well as 15 motion pictures, Beckley played his last film role as
the killer in When A Stranger Calls. Actor Beckley died of
cancer, and left no survivors.
