A Tribute to Nicole
Marie Dolci

OUR STAR

September 2, 1974-
March 31, 2009

Written by her uncle, Brooks Johnson

Nicole Marie Dolci, was the star in
our lives. Born on September 2, 1974,
she lived in Springfield Missouri, home of Brad Pitt, John Goodman and Kathleen
turner. She attended Greenwood Laboratory School. In High School she became interested in
theater and was in several musical and dramatic productions. For certain she was into Pretty in Pink, 16 Candles, Lost Boys, Twin Peaks (she even read
Laura Palmer’s Diary). She was always a funny,(except when she was not)
energetic, (except when she was worn out). The world was her stage. She
graduated from Greenwood Laboratory School in 1992 and proceeded to get into
mischief on graduation night.

“She
earned her BA in Theatre & Film/Psychology from the University of Kansas,
where she graduated with highest distinction and was awarded the Adah Clarke
Hagen scholarship for performance and academic excellence. While attending
school, she created, produced, and acted in a summer showcase entitled
“Women Without Partners,” and a one-act play that she wrote
entitled “The Vigil” was staged by the English
department. Favorite roles while at KU include Mrs. Smith in “The
Bald Soprano” and Katherine in “The Rivers of China.”

`”I remember that Nicki went to
Hollywood to be become a star. She was
hand-picked by director Ang Lee to play the weeping bride in the opening of
“Ride with the Devil”. She was directed
by Robert Altman, in “Kansan City” where her character was thrown against a
wall. She did so well that she and
Robert has some one-on-one time. Last
but not least, she was an extra gorilla in Tim Burton’s “Planet of the Apes”
where she can be barely seen off in the distance as the dancing gorilla. Good times and even better times.” Uncle
Brooks

Nicole Dolci is the
founder of Ashes of Roses Productions. She has produced, written, and starred
in “Nothing Sacred” and “Middleton,” two original
stage productions in the Los Angeles area, and has appeared in eight other
Southern California plays as an actor. Favorite roles include Sharon Falconer
in “Elmer Gantry” and Carol in “Black Comedy.” Film roles
include “Reunion,” “Days,” and “En Femme.” She earned
her BA in Theatre & Film/Psychology from the University of Kansas, where
she graduated with highest distinction and was awarded the Adah Clarke Hagen
scholarship for performance and academic excellence. While attending school,
she created, produced, and acted in a summer showcase entitled “Women
Without Partners,” and a one-act play that she wrote entitled
“The Vigil” was staged by the English department. Favorite roles
while at KU include Mrs. Smith in “The Bald Soprano” and Katherine in
“The Rivers of China.” On a personal note, Nicole has been described
as the love child of Snow White and Hunter S. Thompson.

The Hollywood Forever

be. We Love her so.

Message

  1. Nicki

Although I never had the pleasure of knowing Nicole, it is obvious that she was such a sweet, fun person. Nicki looks so much like you Donna, in some of the photos. I am glad that in a way, I am privileged to “get to know” her through you. Nicki was a shining star that continues to shine 4 years later…I know it has been 4 years now since she left this earth, but her spirit will be with you the rest of your days.
