I learned of your passing this week and wanted to say of all my friends’ parents, you were the most special to me. I have 30 years’ worth of memories of you from the first time we met when Ronnie and you opened up your home one night to a wild bunch of 16 year olds. And now, looking back on that night through the eyes of a dad with a ten year old daughter, what better way to keep Nikki safe and to size up the boys then in her life. Wow, it must have been quite the shock when that motley crew and I took over your pool table (and your liquor, too) that long ago night. But yet, Ronnie and you accepted Nikki’s friends without question and we too became friends. I learned through the years to marvel at your constant sunny outlook and effortless gregarious nature. I enjoyed our many rounds of golf together and our e-mail banter over the recent years. Mac, I will miss you.

I miss you every minute – although I feel so fortunate to have had 45 wonderful years with the most wonderful Dad in the world!!! I feel that you gave me the best gifts a parent can give a child…my spirit and love of life, combined with unwaivering support and solid advice. Dominic and Mark wish they had had more time to spend with you. You were a one-of-a-kind human being, a rare-breed, truly loved by everyone who knew you, and always wearing a smile.
