Carla Ann Lindsay was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, in 1963. She was the first of two children; she came out head first. Her parents — still married after 38 years — are Evelyn Marie Hill-Matheny, who works for a major airline, and Jot Jobo Matheny, a carpenter.
While in school, Carla was a cheerleader, and found her Junior year to have the most impression on her development. She enjoyed singing, playing in bands, and dancing — this was when the entertainer in her was born.
She went to work as a pre-school teacher, and then taught junior high school; this was, as well, a time in which her sense of awareness of self and others was raised to new heights. However, it was a job with George Clinton, handling world-wide merchandising, that brought her to Los Angeles.
Carla lives in Los Angeles, is currently engaged to be married to fiance Derrick Drisdel, and is the proud mother of two children, Sparkle Nicole Lindsay, born on February 9, 1985, and Cheri Rene Lindsay, born on September 17, 1988.
Carla Lindsay works in the Family Service division of Hollywood Forever Funeral Home and Cemetery. Of greatest importance to her, in terms of special interests, is self-expression through spirituality, dancing, family, and God.
