  1. Just a thank you.

I am in process of purchasing a vault at Hollywood Forever. I ran across your life story and was just captivated. I would have welcomed the opportunity to have gotten to know you. One day me and my other half will be at Hollywood Forever, let’s talk then. God Bless you.

  3. Wonderful life

I was somehow linked into lifestory, and yours was the featured story, and it was absolutely spellbinding. At first I thought, wow, some kind of famous movie star, and then I just got caught up in your narration and the clever still and motion pic cuts and music.
Congratulations on a wonderful telling of your life, it’s very touching, especially (for me) the parts regarding being gay and deciding to “be you,” and your very correct (in my eyes) assertion that it is NOT a “choice.”
I’m str8, but am a pit orchestra conductor for theatre, and have countless friends that grapple with coming out or staying in, and on and on, it just tears them apart. They are my friends, and I love them to death (except perhaps when I am onstage portraying John Adams in 1776, and one of my (cough) “friends” decides during one of my long fiery speeches onstage, to appear just offstage and deepthroat his cane while winking at me. THAT evening, of course, the speeches are perhaps a little more fiery than normal). (grin)
The other point that touched me as it obviously touched you, was the story about your pet that had waited for you to get home before leaving to cross the rainbow bridge. I have historically been addicted to basset hounds, and practice my “poor sad lil’ me” look with them and their lovable but sad pitiful eyes.
I’ve worked with the Natl Basset Rescue for years, and indeed, every basset I have every had (“owned” is certainly not the right word for a family member) has come from a shelter, an abused former home, or in the case of my oldest right now, Summer, she was owned by an 86 year old man in Oklahoma (I’m in the Cincinnati area), and had 5 bassets, and went blind from diabetes. The rescue out in that area sent me the sob story, and I find it nigh impossible to say no..
So using Rides Across America, a volunteer group that shuttles bassets around the country to forever homes, I took Summer into my home, and she’s been spoiled silly ever since.
Unfortunately, upon the passing of my current two bassets, I will be unable to have any further, as a third ruptured disc has left me with a lifting capacity of 10# forever, so if I ever had a problem, I couldn’t even get them into the car to have them cared for. (sigh)
I’m sorry, don’t mean to digress on your turf. Again, I want to thank you for sharing your life with we strangers, although do know that it is appreciated.
Feel free to peek at my little world at http://www.bway2.com/tracks, where I create accompaniment for small theatres that don’t have the room for the “real thing.” I have 30 years in the pit, and while not well-to-do, I have been fortunate to be able to pay the bills and keep my wife of 26 years happy, while doing what is the ultimate joy to me. Being able to touch others through music, be it audiences, working with theatre companies of all levels from grade school to touring companies (be glad to tell you about my favorite gig, if you’re interested), and just letting my emotions play through my music has just been a great part of my life.
    Thanks for reading,
    All my best,

  5. I love dogs too!

Hello Bill- You seemed to have had a very nice family and group of friends. I love the pictures of your pets. I have 2 dogs. They are truly mans best friends. I hope that where ever you have passed on to is full of happiness and furry animals. I wish you had a posted history for people to read , it seems from your photos you had a full life. Your military pictures seem very dignified.
    Rest in peace~
