This cult classic starred an unknown Jennifer Lopez as Selena, quickly catapulting her to her own pop-culture stardom.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The story follows Selena Quintanilla-P\u00e9rez, a young, beautiful, enormously gifted female, Mexican American singer as she navigates the male-dominated Tejano music scene. Its scenes capture her rise to fame, from the moment her father, Abraham Quintanilla (Edward James Olmos), discovers her unique voice as a child, to her early career struggles caught between two cultures.
